Ashok K Mohapatra

Ashok K Mohapatra is Professor of English at Sambalpur University. He was a Fulbright scholar at Columbia University and Yale University. He has published a book on Stylistics, a monograph on postcolonial literature and over fifty essays in reputed national and international journals on postcolonial studies and cultural studies. He has translated the works of the Odia poet Gangadhar Meher. At present he is working on a translation of Laxmi Purana a 15th century  Odia text by Balarama Das and select cantos from the Odia Mahabharata, another 15th century work, by Sarala Das. Mohapatra has reviewed many English translations of Indian fiction and poetry in Indian Review of Books, Book Review of India and Postcolonial Text. He edits Sambalpur Studies in Literatures and Cultures, a journal published by English Department, Sambalpur University. He has also co-edited a special issue of The Global South for Indiana University Press on the theme of India in the context of globalization.
