Bill Ashcroft is a renowned critic and theorist, founding exponent of post-colonial theory, co-author of The Empire Writes Back, the first text to examine systematically a field that is now referred to as “post-colonial studies.” He is author and co-author of sixteen books, including four second editions, variously translated into five languages. He has published over 160 chapter-length articles and review articles and is on the editorial boards of seven international journals.
