Mohan Ramanan

Mohan Ramanan, a Professor of English at Hyderabad University, has been a British Council Scholar at Oxford and a Fulbright Scholar at Amherst MA & Missouri Southern State University.

 

Ramanan has specialized in Modern Poetry and teaches it in the University of Hyderabad where he is currently Professor of English and the former Dean of the School of Humanities.  He has published books on British, Indian and American poetry.  He has also published poems in different forums including Kavya Bharathi & Journal of Indian Writing in English.  He reads from his poems regularly and he is a passionate votary of Carnatic music. Presently he is the President of Hyderabad Poetry Society.

 

His publications include: The Movement: A Study of Contemporary Poetic Tradition (1989), Nineteenth Century Indian English Prose (2004), and he has edited Ah! Columbus: The Indian Discovery of America (1993), English and the Indian Short Story (2000) and Four Centuries Of American Poetry (2000).
