He is a young vocalist, who sings Hindustani classical, Rabindrasangeet, D.L Roy's songs among others. He has been working on cultural translation through his creative responses to Tagore's songs. Sounak has composed quite a few bandishes based on Tagore's songs and fused them with the original songs themselves. He has been researching on Tagore through various concerts, and has been performing in India and abroad.
